Celebrating Earth Day
The 22nd of March is Earth Day.Earth Day Network’s mission is to broaden and diversify the environmental movement
worldwide and to mobilise it as the most effective vehicle to build a healthy,
sustainable environment, address climate change and protect the Earth for future generations.
As an eco-friendly and sustainable company, Tiny Box Company want to get everyone involved
in this movement. Talk about ways we can all help, spread the word and donate to the cause.
6 Main Ways You Can Help Today.
Create your own act of green!
These could be things such as:
Giving up smoking
Buying an electric car or car sharing
Stop using plastic bags
Whatever is it, create your own personal goals to help the earth.
Plant a tree or donate to plant a tree
Whether you choose to do this in memory of a loved one, a community project or a simple home garden hobby,
planting a tree will help to add to the earth. We will always need trees!
Earth Day Network has a great donation program should you want to also donate.
Reduce your carbon footprint
We are consuming natural resources at an alarming rate. For the past couple of decades, we have consumed
more resources annually than the Earth can replenish.
Did you know: Humans consume the equivalent of 1.5 planets’ worth of resources every year
By 2050, if we continue, we are expected to consume 2 planets’ worth of resources
Those statistics are unbelievable, and unless we do something about this, we will damage our planet beyond repair.
Take the Ecological Footprint Quiz to find out how you can reduce your carbon footprint.
Eat Less Meat
The meat industry is responsible for around 20% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions.
Producing one calorie of meat requires nearly twenty times the amount of energy as one plant based calorie.
By going #MeatFreeMondays once a week you can help not only the Earth but animal welfare too.
Take part in the campaign!
Stop using disposable plastics
300 million tonnes of plastic are produced each year.
Only about 10% of this plastic is properly recycled and reused.
The rest ends up as waste in landfills or as litter in our natural environment, where it leaks
dangerous chemicals into the nearby soil and water, endangering humans and wildlife alike.
At Tiny Box we try to produce as many products as we can that are not only made from partly recycled
materials, but that are also fully recyclable, ready to be recycled and reused.
Make sure you are recycling at home, in the workplace and encouraging others.
Join Earth Day Network in taking the pledge to switch to sustainable alternatives.
Be kind to the Earth.
